Ditching Shame

“The woman left her water jar and went into the town and said to the people, “Come see a man who told me everything I have done. Could He possibly be the Messiah?”

John 4: 28-29

Shame had the woman at the well hiding from the world at high noon, isolated and hopeless. Her shame created a fortress around her, almost too thick for the Messiah Himself to break through. But His healing prevails and her shame instantaneously melts away. The proof of her ditching that shame unveils as she begins to shout out to an entire city those exact situations that had paralyzed her in darkness for such a long time. She realized the narrative imposed by herself and others was null once the transformative healing triumphed.

Shame can make you feel unworthy of love and respect or deserving of hardships you are experiencing. Shame is debilitating, and the antithesis of an environment conducive to healing. It’s filled with lies or half-truths drawing you deeper into yourself and weakness instead of outward towards strength and healing.

At Anchor Well, we aspire to create the safest space for you to recognize any shame holding you static. We will provide you with tools and support to ditch the shame that tries to squander wholeness and health. We want you to experience such profound healing that those things that once shackled you into shame become your strength and witness to your transformative healing journey.
